Jason, drummer from DownlowNYHC speaks [26 Apr 2005|04:28pm]

jason posted this last week and I just saw it now.

"Hanging with the punks in the gutters I have found..most of them are gifted and talented as well. So which is it? Am i talented or gifted. and actually i'm not to fond of the gutter. Playing in Down Low is the closest thing to it though. so it's all good.
Comment on my video!!!!! C'mon... bring it! Hate comments, love comments....what the hell language is that guy singing in comments... whatever! just leave me some damn comments on the video I made dammit!!! Just copy and paste this link into your browser http://www.disassociate.com/downlow_the_pressure.html The video is for our new song "The Pressure" to be released this year on Down Low NYHC's next CD, recorded/mixed by Nick Noize of Locked in a Vacancy. As this is the first thing I've ever edited, i'd like to hear some feedback from any and all of you who care to check it out. Of course if you like Down Low already (fat chance), and/or are a fan of NYHC music you might be biased. Hell, you might even be in the video. Most of it was taped live from 1995 through 2004at CBGB and Coney Island High in NYC and the SideBar in Baltimore, MD. The only footage of me playing drums is the black and white footage at the Sidebar from August 2004. This footage is also the only video in which the band is actually playing the song "The Pressure". The "Down Low" in blue camcorder type across the screen at the end is courtesy of Uptown Al who taped that Down Low show at CBGB's. I just put a freeze frame on it and thought it was a cool way to end the video. All the video footage was transferred from VHS to 3/4" and then digitized into an AVID system. It was edited during my last week out in Venice/Hollywood California at my cousin's company, Brass Knuckles Editorial in late December 2004.
I hope you enjoy the video -Tell me what you think -get back to me with comments, messages, hatemail etc. "

5. Did you see the Joey Down Low "Boriqua Shuffle"? how funny is that? (This isnt really a question, but did u see it? Go back and look again. Now laugh.)
6. What crazy NYHC brother from NYC sitting on the side of the CBGB's stage does the camera lazily focus in on at one point? (hint: he's wearing a red baseball cap)

Metalmetalmetalmetal and a couple that aint. [15 Mar 2005|01:26pm]

We’ve got a serious back-log of treats here so read any that take your fancy and ignore any that don’t. I seriously recommend the interview with Bring Me The Horizon – you’d do ‘em wouldn’t you?

I also wish to take this opportunity to apologize for the Barcode and Bleed The Sky images being fantastically low-res – it’s not my fault it’s Nuclear Blast’s for being bums and not updating their media area.

I'm not sure why he reviewed Fightstar either... [06 Mar 2005|03:58pm]

[ mood | busy ]

It’s been a bit slow recently but that’s because Dom and myself have been rushed off our feet with assignments and shit – we appreciate your continued support (if you’ve actually given any) and things should pick up a bit soon when we get everything out of the way.

We’ve also go a new writer so look out for a few things from her shortly.

Hondo Mclean – Unspoken Dialect

Fightstar – They Liked You Better When You Were Dead

Angra – Temple Of Shadows

X-treme Snowbaord Trax

Paradise Lost – Self Titled

And the undisputed highlight of this week’s crop; that belated interview with Killswitch Engage

It's been awesome review week - not a bad'un in the bunch. [15 Feb 2005|01:20am]

Another helping from the music pick’n’mix that is Montagpress.co.uk – it’s worth checking out that Hell Is For Heroes review because it’s a goddamn exclusive; no other website will have their hands on that baby yet so even if you have nothing but loathing for the darlings of UK post-hardcore give it a read. Pretty pretty please.

Symphony In Peril – The Whore’s Trophy

Comeback Kid – Wake The Dead

Roger Miret And The Disasters -1984

Hell Is For Heroes – Transmit Disrupt

Kreator – Enemy Of God

Also we need some mp3s for our myspace profile because Kill The Lights are looking pretty lonely - expose a much of potential converts to your sound, g'wan!
